Ebony Progress

Knitting the Ebony vest has gone quickly.  I rarely knit with bulky yarn.  It's rather nice not having a project take a long time.  One of my last was a knit lace shawl with fingering yarn.

This is the vest with the body knit and the it and the pockets sewn.  I had to do something different to finish the ribbing and the collar.  The instructions called for  Elizabeth Zimmerman's sewn bind-off. I was scared to do it at first.  Then I thought my first knits were Irish knit and that was being silly.  It was remarkably easy and look how nice it looks!

I haven't grafted the collar yet and I think I have reason to fret about that.  I'm grafting live stitches to a selvage. I think I took the first few stitches out about five times before I was happy with them.

I wonder if my cat Molly will give up the vest.
